This weekend Chad and I had an amazing opportunity to volunteer at the Sundance Film Festival. We have been learning about an organization, www.savedarfur.org that raises awareness about the genocide that is taking place in Sudan, Africa. We started supporting this cause about a month ago and received an e-mail this last week asking for volunteers to help at the Sundance Film Festival. We were so excited not only to further support this effort but also to go to the Film Festival. We met in Park city at the Egyptian Theater on Saturday and met with a Darfur representative Ben, who flew in from Washington D.C and helped hand out wrist bands and pamphlets about Darfur. It was amazing to see how many people had heard about the situation in Africa or that were already supporters of the SaveDarfur origination. It was so fun for Chad and I to be apart something that really makes a difference to people all the way in Africa. We had never been in Park City during Sundance either so it was cool to see a hand full of celebrities and to just be apart of all the excitement. The Savedarfur origination was supporting a documentary in the Festival, "The devil Came on Horseback" about the genocide taking place but unfortunately we weren't able to get tickets.
