This is how I beat the Winter Blahs...

Saving Money. I have really started getting into coupons. I'm not the girl at the checkout with the giant binder full of alphabetized coupons(I have seen her) but I enjoy printing online coupons and saving a little extra money.
Food Storage. This was one of my New Years Resolutions and after reading my friend Jen's post on food storage, I was motivated even more. My goal is a three month supply of most of the suggested staples but I have mainly been focusing on foods we regularly eat. Food storage has become almost like a hobby and I find myself randomly thinking about it, weird!

Getting Organized. This was my other New Years Resolution and after our January enrichment meeting I got some great tips and ideas to get me started.

Socializing. Thanks to my friend Lacie, a few moms from my neighborhood have been getting together at Jumpin Jacks quite a bit this year to let the kids burn off some energy. Not only is it good for the kids but it has been  really good for the moms as well. Recently we celebrated the birthdays of one of Carter's best friends, Chloe and her littler sister Delilah. Carter loves playing with Madi and Chloe(pictured above) and of course we love hanging out with their parents too!
Being a Mom. I will admit I have struggled with being a stay at home mom. I miss the atmosphere of my old job, especially the friendships with my coworkers, but mainly just having that outlet each day, if only for three hours, without the constant responsibilities of motherhood. I know that most moms would give anything for the luxury of staying home and so I have to remind myself to appreciate the opportunity  that I have. There will always be good days and bad, laughter and tears(on my part) and so recently I have tried to simply just take it one day at a time and enjoy this chapter in my life because some day it will be over and I will miss it. I've learned that it is o.k. to have days where I don't get out of my pajamas, every job has a dress code and this happens to be mine!

Exercise. We all feel good when we exercise, the key is finding motivation. Our ward has recently started women's basketball and I have dared to join in after an eight year break. The first week I felt like I was going to die, but it has definitely gotten easier and we manage to have a lot of  fun.

Blessings. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need. Enough said!

you are getting so much accomplished! I feel the same way sometimes about being a stay at home mom. I love it but some days are harder than others. I miss talking to people from work and the friendships also. It is good to know that I am not the only one that struggles.

Thanks for the reminder about enjoying staying at home and enjoying the kiddos. Sometimes I forget too. You have me inspired. I wish so bad we lived closer.. (like me in your basement:))

Wow that was a great blog! I feel super motivated and all at the same time glad that I am a mother. If you every need a break from the kiddos I am more than happy to take them for a few hours! I love them to death.
